Where is the money stored before cashing out?

Payouts can take longer if Stripe is reviewing your first transaction for compliance reasons. By default, Stripe holds the first payout for approximately 7–14 days. After the first payout, subsequent transfers follow your Stripe payout schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly).

By default, your GiftBox link becomes inactive after you cash out. However, you can choose to keep it active so friends can continue sending you gifts.

Why is there a $100 sending limit per person?

To prevent abuse and maintain fairness, each sender can send up to $100 per recipient per campaign.

Why does GiftBox charge a 15% service fee?

Which countries does GiftBox support?

GiftBox uses Stripe Connect to handle all payments and payouts. To receive money gifts with GiftBox, you must live in a country where Stripe can create a connected account and send payouts to a local bank account. This depends entirely on Stripe’s own country availability. To receive payouts, users must have a valid bank account located in one of the supported countries. GiftBox does not provide financial or money-transmission services itself; all payment processing and payouts are handled by Stripe As of November 2025, GiftBox can support recipients in the countries where Stripe is live, including: North America United States Canada Mexico Europe Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland United Kingdom Asia–Pacific Australia, New Zealand Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand (Stripe also lists India and Indonesia in “preview” mode; GiftBox may enable these later once Stripe is fully available there.) Why is my country not supported?

If your country is not on the list above, it means Stripe does not yet fully support creating local accounts and sending payouts there. GiftBox cannot bypass this limitation, because: 1. Payment licensing and regulation Stripe must obtain local licenses and comply with each country’s banking, payments, and anti– money–laundering rules before it can operate there. Until Stripe is officially live in a country, platforms like GiftBox are not allowed to use it for payouts in that market. 2. Banking and payout infrastructure Stripe needs reliable connections to local banking systems to send payouts to users’ bank accounts. In many countries this infrastructure is still being built or does not yet meet Stripe’s standards for security, reliability, and compliance. 3. Compliance and KYC/AML requirements Stripe is responsible for verifying the identity of everyone who receives payouts (KYC) and for preventing money laundering (AML). In some jurisdictions, the legal and technical frameworks are not yet in place for Stripe to safely and automatically handle this at scale. Because GiftBox is built on top of Stripe Connect, we can only allow recipients in countries that Stripe itself officially supports.

Can people from other countries still send gifts?

Yes. In most cases, senders can pay from almost any country, as long as their bank card works for international online payments. Stripe allows businesses in supported countries (like Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the EU, etc.) to accept card payments from customers worldwide. The limitation applies only to where money can be paid out (where the recipient’s bank account is located), not where the sender lives.

Can I dispute a gift I sent?

All gifts are considered final. However, if you suspect unauthorized activity, contact your bank or Stripe immediately.

What if I sent a gift to the wrong person?

Accepted Answer

Once a payment has been processed, it cannot be reversed. You may contact the recipient directly to resolve the matter privately.

Can a sender request a refund?

Refunds are only issued if required by law or in exceptional cases, at the sole discretion of GiftBox.

Why can I see the sender's address in Stripe?

Some payment providers (like Stripe or Apple Pay) may display the sender’s billing address on the transaction receipt. This is controlled by the provider, not GiftBox.

Does GiftBox store my payment data?

No. GiftBox never stores any sensitive payment information. All transactions are securely handled through Stripe’s PCI-compliant system.
